TRAPPING ABUSE BY FEDERAL EMPLOYEES
Federal trapper Russell Files:
Federal trapper Russell Files was arrested for felony cruelty after he set steel-jawed traps to ensnare his neighbor’s dog, Zoey, for coming into his yard. And he did it while on the government’s dime. A neighbor and police found Zoey exhausted and covered in blood. Zoey had broken 22 teeth trying to bite her way out of two leg-hold traps. Sadly the Zoe incident is not an isolated example of cruel behavior by employees of the rogue agency with its misnomer name: “Wildlife Services.” Late last year another employee, Jamie P. Olson, tortured coyotes while on the federal clock. Read the police report concerning USDA-Wildlife Services dog trapper, Russell Files, here.

Zoey dog trapped by Federal USDA agent
Federal Wildlife Agent Jamie Olson:
Photographs of animal abuse and suffering posted on a Wildlife Services’ agent’s Facebook and other Web pages stirred anger among wildlife advocates. The images show two dogs savagely attacking a coyote in a leg-hold trap and the employee posing with the tattered carcass of a coyote. They also show other trapped animals – dead and alive. The Facebook photos began to circulate on the Internet on October 30, 2012, after being spotted by an environmentalist. The Facebook page has since been taken down. Read the Sacramento Bee's article covering this story.
Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's (APHIS) investigation decided these images and actions of abuse did not warrant further pursuit leaving this agent gainfully employed.

U.S. Forest Service Employee Josh Bransford:
After Congress took gray wolves off the endangered species list in 2011, a Forest Service employee came under fire for trapping a wolf in Idaho and snapping a photo of the wounded animal before killing it. Some reports indicated that gun shots were also taken at the trapped wolf before ending its suffering. Read the Washington Post's article.
